Topic:  Candy Cane Corner
Date: Monday, Dec 17, 2001

Summary:  A local store that lets Utah's homeless shop for free during the holidays is hurting for donations.

Contributions of toys, toiletries, and clothing are down so drastically that "Candy Cane Corner" was forced to delay its opening by five days last week.

With only a week left until Christmas, "The Road Home" homeless shelter in Salt Lake is nervous it won't be able to deliver Christmas to every homeless family.

If you'd like to donate, you can drop off new items at Candy Cane Corner from 1 pm to 8 pm Monday through Saturday.

It's located at 309 East 100 South in Salt Lake City.

The store gives parents vouchers to shop for Christmas gifts-- all for free.
